Roses, Red Flags & Real Love

Roses, Red Flags & Real Love

A two-part series exploring trauma, dating, and love. Empowering BIPOC women to build connections while honoring their unique experiences

The BIPOC Women’s Society (BWS)are thrilled to present our second Roses, Red Flags & Real Love —our two-part series unpacking the heart of relationships as BIPOC women. In Rewriting the Script, we will unpack how inner child wounds, attachment styles, and family dynamics shape the way we show up in love, and explore tools for healing, self-preservation, and reparenting.

In Sexual Communication 101, we will focus on building confidence and clarity in intimate conversations, with practical guidance on expressing needs, boundaries, and desires.

Through reflection, discussion, and interactive exercises, these sessions offer space to better understand yourself and how you connect with others.

“What Do You Like?: Conversations That Build Better Intimacy”(Sexual Communication 101)

Talking about sex is not always easy, but it is essential.

As women, we are often taught to be silent when it comes to our sexuality. As a result, many of us learn to ignore our needs and desires, and to even be ashamed of them.

Together, we will explore how to tackle internalized shame and advocate for yourself. We will look at practical frameworks for initiating these conversations, navigating vulnerability, and responding with empathy rather than judgment.

We will unpack common communication barriers, challenge myths about sexual communication, and offer tools to help you feel seen, heard, and understood.

Whether you are in a long-term relationship or just beginning to explore a connection with someone new, this session will help you build the skills to communicate more clearly, listen more deeply, and create a stronger foundation for trust and intimacy.
